All that glitters is festive season. The palpable cheer in the air and the lights all around set the mood for a more polished and glowing look. It’s the time to be little audacious and choose bight and intense colours with a little shine or sparkle.

We have picked the ‘glow girl’ look for you as it gives out an impression of ‘happy-healthy’ skin and not ‘made-up’ skin. We also call it the ‘illuminate look’, which is very in nowadays, and one of my evergreen favorites. It allows your skin to breathe while giving it a glowing appearance. If you want, you can keep the focus on the eyes or pout.

The laydown

  • Begin with the brows because nothing gives definition to your face like your brows. Comb them nicely and fill the bare areas with matt dark brown brow powder.
  • For the eyes, start with a good eye primer and then apply base. Pack a pinkish matt hue in the crease and blend it out nicely. Cut the crease with a concealer and apply golden shimmer all over the lid and leave a bit of a space under the cut crease empty. Add a dash of golden glitter liner in the empty space. Complete the eye makeup with thick dramatic eyelashes, followed by a black eyeliner. Apply a blue or any colour liquid liner on the lower lashes.
  • Prep your skin with a face primer well in advance. Apply a cream-based foundation and blend with a damp beauty blender. Do corrections and mattify base with translucent powder.
  • Give your face a hint of healthy-happy skin with a blush in light pink matt shade and blend it out well. If you want, you can add one tone darker hue to create more depth.
  • Swipe a shimmery powder over the cheekbones, below brow bones and on the inner corner of the eyes. This will create shine in the most subtle way.
  • A little gloss on the lips is all you need to seal the look. Apply a pink lip glossy lip colour.

Do not forget your tresses because all the fun is in the hair. Crimp the whole hair for volume. Take ear-to-ear parting and make three small sections and curl them with a tong rod. Then pin it up in a diagonal way. You can also add some false hair to create more volume and length and tie them in a braid.
